Albert Dorrington (1874-1953) was an English writer who was a frequent contributor to the Australian magazine The Bulletin during the 1890s. This is a sensational thriller novel, often also considered a work of science fiction, concerning the contemporary fascination over the dangers of radium. 19 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally bright, with loss of gilt to the spine lettering, a pen mark to the spine and some light shelf wear. Front hinge is strained but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean except for a little spotting to the first and last few pages and offsetting to the end papers.
